The Golden-winged Skimmer is a large dragonfly with a yellow and brown body. The males have rich transparent golden-orange wings while the females are much duller. They are found along the edges of ponds and lakes with lots of vegetation along the shore where they can perch. They are also found in small ponds and wetlands in pinelands more than other skimmers. In Florida, adults can be seen flying around between February and November.
