Anhingas are found basically anywhere there is freshwater in Florida. They swim in the water to catch fish. When swimming, only their neck protrudes from the water, earning them the name snakebird. They spear fish with their sharp bill and then come above water and flip it up in the air and catch it. Sometimes, they have to use a rock or log to get the fish off their bill if it is stuck.
